3rd Friday in Downtown Salisbury | April 15, 2022

April 15, 2022 is the next 3rd Friday in Downtown Salisbury, with artists and crafters lining the streets, live music outside, and tons of special activities. This month’s theme is Hello Spring, and it’s a chance to celebrate the warming weather, new growth, and outdoor gatherings. There will be flower planting crafts for kids, baby animals and pony rides with Funny Farm Petting Zoo, art shows, artist mixers and more!

On Main Street, 3rd Friday will be back outside with artists, crafters and cottage food bakers lining the streets. Enjoy the funky fresh stylings of Permilla Project live on the N. Division Street stage while you explore the special displays and artists demos. Stop by the 3rd Friday table for pollinator seed packs. Pet baby animals with Funny Farm Petting Zoo or enjoy pony rides for an extra charge. Plus, kids can learn about herbs and make their own flower planting with SU Honors College students. Feeling lucky -- stop by the Big Brothers Big Sisters table on the Plaza, to learn more about Bigs Bingo going on inside during 3rd Friday.

Salisbury Art Space will be hosting the opening reception for the all-new exhibition New Beginnings that celebrates spring as a time for renewal and rebirth. The exhibition includes works in all mediums from local area artists, with winners announced during the reception. Salisbury Art Space is located on the lowest level of the Salisbury University Building.

On your way there, stop in Salisbury University's Dave and Patsy Rommel Center for Entrepreneurship and spin the wheel of opportunity for a chance to make custom buttons and t-shirts in the maker space, win gift certificates to local restaurants and businesses, or play cornhole and learn how the Rommel Center for Entrepreneurship can help expand your creativity and help you win your share of $200,000 with the Shore Hatchery Competition.

Downtown Salisbury’s businesses are ready for 3rd Friday with special events. Lurking Class Skate Shop is hosting a Skate Deck Art Show and Paint-A-Tile fundraiser in support of Phase 3 of the Salisbury Skatepark, complete with special edition t-shirts by Marc Edmond. The MudHud: Clay Art Studio is hosting an Artist Mixer from 6:00 – 830 p.m. where artists from all backgrounds can mingle, enjoy refreshments and live music from Marlee.


Blackwater Apothecary is celebrating its One Year Anniversary during 3rd Friday, and Lilac Clothing Company is offering a free gift with purchases over $100 all day long. Plus, Revival will be hosting “Lurking for Love with Magnolia Applebottom”, a brand-new cabaret experience with the drag star of Rehoboth Beach, DE.

3rd Friday in Downtown Salisbury | March 18, 2022


Salisbury, MD: March 18, 2022 the next 3rd Friday in Downtown Salisbury, and it is the perfect excuse to head out for a night downtown. This month's event is hosted indoors only - so that means no artists and crafters outside on the street - but there is still tons to do and see inside before the event heads back outside in April. From gallery shows, live performances, shopping and more, there is always something for everyone to enjoy.

Art lovers, check out Salisbury University Art Galleries this 3rd Friday for a live art performance titled Between Heaven and Earth. The immersive screen-dance performance by Jennnifer Leung Johnson is about the spaces we create and the breaks we rejoin through the process of healing. She interweaves dance, digital media, trauma research, healing frequencies, neuroaesthetics and interactive elements to create an interdisciplinary and multisensory experience. The event will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public.

Salisbury Art Space will be hosting the opening reception for its all-new exhibition Common Objects this 3rd Friday from 5 to 7 p.m., now on display through end of March. “Common Objects” are all around us and fun to explore – and art highlighting everyday objects was the challenge given to local Salisbury artists and Salisbury Art Space members this month. The exhibition includes work in all mediums, and will be judged by local artist and professor John Mosher, with winners announced during the reception. Salisbury Art Space is located on the lowest level of the Salisbury University Building, below Salisbury University Art Galleries.

Not only is March Women’s History Month, it’s also Harriet Tubman’s 200th Birthday, so be sure to stop by The Brick Room for a special toast with their fabulous signature cocktails. Revival, downtown Salisbury’s newest entertainment venue, will be hosting the Divas of Hollywood Drag Show. Join Magnolia Applebottom and her merry band of female impersonators for comedy, music and fun. Concerned about social distance, not to worry! 3rd Friday’s virtual event will share event and community highlights for those who choose to home. Facemasks aren’t required in some shops, but could be required in others, so bring one just in case.

Salisbury, MD: 3rd Friday is pleased to announce its theme line-up for the 2022 outdoor season in Downtown Salisbury. The monthly art and entertainment street festival hosts local artisans along Main Street, and uses themes to keep things exciting during the outdoor season April through November. Some themes are fan favorites and occur every year while other themes come and go. No matter what theme, every 3rd Friday will be tons of fun this season.

3rd Friday kicks off the 2022 outdoor season on April 15th with ‘Hello Spring’ –highlighting everything from baby animals and spring flowers, to sustainability projects and local environmental groups. May 20th will have a ‘Wheels’ theme- with a focus on bikes, cars, and skateboards, complete with a car show and a pop-up skate park. June 17th 3rd Friday will be fan favorite ‘Paw Prints’ also known as ‘Bring Your Dog to 3rd Friday Month’ with special activities for furry friends.

July 15th’s theme will be ‘Water World’ to keep things cool with water activities and a Fishmobile. August 19th theme will be ‘Urban Artscapes’, a theme that highlights cityscapes, urban art, and culture. September 16th theme “Weird Science” will be right on time for back-to-school with cool demos and freaky experiments.


October 21st will be Salisbury fan-favorite theme ‘Super Heroes’ with a comic con feel, free comics, highlights on local heroes, and a costume contest for kids and adults. The outdoor season will wrap up on November 18th with a ‘Holiday Lights’ theme that will include the annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony, as well as, a last chance to shop from the 3rd Friday vendors for everyone on your list.


“Monthly themes are a jumping off point for special activities and for local businesses and vendors to get creative, and keep things fresh” says 3rd Friday producer Jamie Heater. The City of Salisbury’s Movies on the River series that coincides with 3rd Friday each month also loosely follows the themes, with a fun line-up of new and throwback movies, all free to enjoy all season long at Riverwalk Amphitheater just after sundown.

3rd Friday’s 2022 event footprint will take place on Main Street from the Plaza to Court Street, and along N. Division Street in front of the Government Office Building. In May and July, the footprint will extend farther down Main Street towards the Baptist and Poplar Hill intersections to accommodate special events. Road closures and parking closures can be expected to affect these areas around 2 p.m. on event days. Any traffic changes, or changes to road closures will be updated online.


3rd Friday is a free once-monthly art & entertainment festival in Downtown Salisbury. To be a vendor at 3rd Friday you must be an artist, crafter or non-profit organization, and must register in advance via email, with cottage food items requiring additional paperwork. 3rd Friday is a downtown economic development initiative and a project of the Salisbury Arts & Entertainment District in partnership with The City of Salisbury.
